We will have the traditional presentation of the colors, flyover 21 gun salute, laying of the colors on the water, and taps. Congressman Ralph Hill, Mayor Bill Cecil, and a veteran speaker; and singing of the National Anthem. Please join us for this day with the family. There will be grilling by the pool all day.

Rockwall Memorial Day Celebration hosted by Chandlers Landing Yacht and Tennis Club will be held for the 33^rd time on May 26^th at Noon.

This Memorial Day celebration honors the veterans and active duty military who have bought us time to make this the country that it should be. Those who gave their lives, those who gave the rest of their lives through disabilities and those who served and remain among us that have stood in harm’s way so that we as citizens can attend to the work of making this the best country we can. The celebration is designed to inspire a rededication to doing all we can to honor their sacrifice.

The ceremony which will include: an Honor Guard to present the colors; a flyover of military aircraft with the missing man formation; presentations by our local elected leaders and an invited speaker; a laying of a wreath on Lake Ray Hubbard by the Seawolf, Military Taps, a singing on the National Anthem.  All of which will inspire all ages to remember the sacrifices of others and not to let their acts of courage be in vain. Veterans and citizens alike are invited to attend at Chandler’s Landing Yacht and Tennis Club, the ceremony being open to the public.

The Ceremony will start at Noon, and will last approximately 30-45 minutes. Refreshments will be offered at a reasonable price. Parking is plentiful at the Club and Marina so all can join with us to participate in this inspiring program.

More details will be forthcoming as the date draws near, so mark your calendars and join with your fellow veterans and citizens of Rockwall for this celebration.
